This one-day Uganda-Entebbe tour will begin and end in Entebbe, it will take you and explore Entebbe town which is the gateway to Uganda. You will stand a chance to explore Entebbe botanical gardens and the Uganda wildlife education center (zoo). Entebbe town was known as one of the capital city of Uganda and the entrance point for many missionaries that came to Uganda through Tanzania and Kenya. Entebbe is the main entrance to Uganda as it host the only international airport and Entebbe is a residence of the president of Uganda, known as the state house. It’s a smallest city but offers a lot of tractions Lake Victoria.
On this tour our first stop will be at Entebbe Botanical Gardens which is located along the shores of Lake Victoria and it was established over 100years ago. Once here you will enjoy a variety of amazing bird species, several species of monkeys jumping from one tree branch to another not one that but you will see different indigenous and imported plants and trees indeed they look so beautiful. Another stopover will be at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), which was previously known as the Entebbe Zoo. The zoo hosts a variety of animal and birds many are local origin and some from other continents like Asia. For bird lovers, you stand a chance to have a kin encounter with several species of birds as well several species of animals which can be seen just meters from you. Not only seeing, but you will stand a chance to learn more about their life and how they fit in the general Eco system in Uganda. To mention some of the animals expected see at the Uganda wildlife education center include; Lions, Rhinos, Giraffes, Buffalo, Crocodiles, Zebras, Kob, Impala, bush buck, water buck, Leopard, and Chimps among many others. A big percentage of these animals were salvaged from accidents or poachers and others brought there for educational purposes.
Not to miss another fascinating activity at Entebbe the sunset cruise on Lake Victoria. You will leave the dock at 5pm to start this striking tour of Lake Victoria. The cruise lasts for about 90 minutes with gorgeous views of the Lake Victoria. You will see a variety of many small boats of fishermen sprinkled all over the place and those using the strings. Be sure to capture the sunset over Lake Victoria on your camera, it’s really a beautiful sight!
