Detailed Itinerary: 6 Days Uganda Wildlife & Chimpanzee Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park (via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary)
Your safari guide from Mum and Dad Uganda Tours will pick you up from Entebbe Airport or your hotel in Kampala and brief you about the journey ahead. You will drive northwards through the Luwero Triangle, passing local villages and farmlands.
En route, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience on foot. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see endangered white rhinos in the wild. Lunch will be enjoyed at the sanctuary restaurant.
After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the Top of the Falls, where the mighty River Nile forces its way through a narrow 7-meter gorge, creating a powerful and scenic waterfall. Later, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise – Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park. Murchison Falls National Park is home to lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and a wide variety of bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, then enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise along the River Nile. This cruise offers excellent wildlife viewing, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, antelopes, and numerous water birds, with chances of spotting the rare shoebill stork. The boat cruise ends at the base of the falls, followed by a guided hike to the top of the falls before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, check out and enjoy a game drive as you exit the park, then begin the scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through Fort Portal with stunning views of tea plantations, crater lakes, and the Rwenzori foothills.
Kibale Forest is famous for its rich biodiversity and is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and more. In the evening, enjoy a guided nature walk, dinner, and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest. The trek may last between 1–4 hours depending on chimpanzee movements. Once located, you will spend one hour observing the chimps as they feed, groom, play, and interact.
After the trek, begin your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey of approximately 3 hours. As you enter the park, you may spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and warthogs. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After lunch, enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This channel boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa, as well as crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless bird species.
