Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional guide/driver from Mum and Dad Uganda Tours. After a short briefing about your safari, begin a scenic drive through Rwanda’s breathtaking countryside, famous for its rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and picturesque rural villages, as you make your way towards the Uganda border.
Upon reaching the Cyanika or Katuna Border Post, your guide will assist you with the immigration and border-crossing formalities before continuing into southwestern Uganda. From there, enjoy another scenic drive through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa,” before arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late afternoon.
Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most biologically diverse rainforests. The park is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, as well as over 350 bird species, approximately 120 mammal species, numerous butterflies, reptiles, and an incredible variety of plant life. Its dense rainforest and mist-covered hills create the perfect habitat for these endangered primates and offer one of the most rewarding wildlife experiences in Africa.

DAY 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi, Return to Kigali

Wake very early in the morning go gorilla trekking, however, first report to the park headquarters to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts while with the gorilla and also gets you allocated to the gorilla family to trek that very day. After follow the ranger guide very deep into the impenetrable forest to begin the search of our cousins. The search for these majestic animals goes through the thick untamed rain-forest, where you’ll be scrambling over mossy rocks and through deep undergrowth and it can be arduous at times, but the encounter is worth the effort.
Ounce they are meet stay in a distance of about 10m away from the gorillas and only one hour is allowed with the gorillas. Watching gorillas in their natural habitat is a memory that will last a lifetime. You will receive a lot of information from the experience ranger guide about how the history and lifestyle of the Gorillas. Day 3: Kigali City Tour – Departure
After enjoying breakfast at your lodge, check out and depart for Kigali, where you will explore Rwanda’s vibrant capital city on a guided city tour.
Your first stop will be the Kigali Genocide Memorial, one of the country’s most important historical and educational sites.
Here, you will gain a deeper understanding of the events leading up to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, the devastating impact it had on the nation, and Rwanda’s remarkable journey of healing, reconciliation, and rebuilding. The memorial serves as the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims and offers powerful exhibitions that honor their memory while promoting peace and unity.
Afterwards, continue to one of Kigali’s lively local markets and arts and crafts centres, where you can browse a wide selection of handmade souvenirs, traditional baskets, colorful fabrics, wood carvings, paintings, jewelry, and locally produced coffee. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the city’s vibrant culture and purchase memorable gifts before your departure.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before your guide transfers you to Kigali International Airport in time for your onward flight, marking the end of your unforgettable East African safari.
