About Semuliki National Park
Located in Bundibugyo District along Uganda’s western border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, near Lake Albert, Semuliki National Park lies within the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. The park forms part of the vast Ituri Forest ecosystem that stretches into the Congo Basin, separated by the Semuliki River.
Semuliki is the only park in Uganda dominated primarily by true tropical lowland forest. The terrain is generally flat with dense, lush vegetation, creating a striking contrast to the nearby rugged landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Detailed itinerary for 3 Days Semliki National Park Tour
Day 1: Depart for Semliki National park
Our company representative will pick you from either Entebbe or hotel in Kampala gets you briefed about the safari and later drive you to the south western part of Uganda to Semuliki national park a home to Over 435 bird species recorded including 35 Guinea-Congo forest Goliath Heron, spot-breasted ibis,Haartlaub’s duck, Congo serpent eagle, chestnut flanked goshawk ,red thighed sparrowhawk ect and and many primate species.
The journey will let you pass via beautiful scenery and rolling hills. You will have two stopovers before reaching the park one at the Equator to buy crafts and take photos and another in Mbarara for lunch. From here you will continue to the magnificent park arriving in the evening.

Day 2: Sempaya hot springs
While at Semulik, you will visit the Sempaya Hot spring the major highlight to the park. These natural springs have a geyser shooting high from an 8 meter wide hole at a very high temperature. Sempaya Hot springs is the largest in the whole of Uganda and it’s a must not miss to visit while at the park.
While on your way to the spring, you may have a chance to identify a variety of bird types such as the blue breasted kingfisher plus Frasier’s ant-thrush in addition to primates such as the grey checked mangabey plus the red-tailed monkey.
