Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional guide/driver from Mum and Dad Uganda Tours. After a short briefing about your safari, you will begin a guided tour of Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most vibrant cities.
Your city tour includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving and educational site that commemorates the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The memorial serves as the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims and offers an insightful exhibition that tells the story of Rwanda’s history, the events leading up to the genocide, and the country’s remarkable journey toward reconciliation and recovery.
You will also visit a local arts and crafts market, where you can browse a variety of handmade souvenirs, traditional baskets, paintings, jewelry, and other locally crafted products while interacting with local artisans.
After lunch at a local restaurant, depart Kigali for a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri). Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking experience

Early morning breakfast and then after report to the park headquarters to receive short briefings about gorilla trekking and also gets you allocated to the gorilla family. At 8:00am you will start to hike into lead by the ranger guide hike deep into the forest to have a chance to meet the endangered gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking time is unpredictable since meeting them depends on where these apes spend their last night from. After the apes are met, you will spend an hour with them while taking videos and photos with them.
You are not advised to use flash cameras when taking photos as this can scare away these apes. After this wonderful experience, descend back to the lodge for full lunch. In the afternoon, go for cultural performance and meet the batwa people or take a nature walk. Return to the lodge / hotel and later transfer back to Kigali. Depending on you departure flight schedule, you transfer back to Kigali international airport to meet your departure flight back home.
