Augustine Kassujja is the Founder and Managing Director of Mum and Dad Uganda Tours, one of Uganda’s trusted safari companies, dedicated to creating unforgettable travel experiences across Uganda and the greater East African region. His passion for tourism goes beyond operating safaris—it is about connecting people with Africa’s extraordinary wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and warm hospitality.

Born and raised in Luweero District, Uganda, Augustine developed a deep love for nature, conservation, and the incredible beauty of his homeland from an early age. Inspired by a desire to share these treasures with the world, he founded Mum and Dad Uganda Tours with a vision of providing authentic, personalized, and memorable safari experiences for travelers from every corner of the globe.

The name “Mum and Dad Uganda Tours” carries a special meaning. Augustine believes that many travel decisions begin within the family, and in many cases, it is mothers who inspire and initiate family vacations and adventures. Fathers then join in planning and supporting the journey, while children eagerly follow, making travel a shared family experience. This simple but powerful idea inspired the company’s name, reflecting the belief that travel brings families together, strengthens relationships, and creates lifelong memories. Since joining the tourism industry in 2013, Augustine has gained extensive experience in destination management throughout Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. His in-depth knowledge of East Africa’s national parks, wildlife, cultures, and tourism destinations allows him to design carefully tailored itineraries that match the interests and expectations of every traveler.

Over the years, Augustine has actively promoted East African tourism in international markets, particularly in the United States, while building partnerships with travel agents and tourism stakeholders across Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world. His marketing experience has enabled Mum and Dad Uganda Tours to welcome guests from English-speaking countries, as well as visitors from Italy, France, Spain, China, and many other international destinations.

As a passionate explorer and safari specialist, Augustine has personally visited more than 15 national parks, numerous wildlife reserves, and many of East Africa’s most iconic tourist attractions. These firsthand experiences give him valuable insight into every destination, ensuring that each itinerary is carefully crafted to provide authentic wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, comfort, and unforgettable moments.

Kagimu Michael is the Operations Manager at Mum and Dad Uganda Tours, where he oversees the planning, coordination, and successful execution of safari experiences across East Africa. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism with a specialization in Tour and Travel Operations, Michael combines academic knowledge with practical expertise to ensure every journey is professionally organized and exceeds client expectations.

As the driving force behind the company’s daily operations, Michael plays a vital role in designing seamless travel experiences. He has successfully planned and coordinated a wide range of safaris throughout Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, including gorilla trekking adventures, wildlife safaris, cultural tours, mountain climbing expeditions, birding tours, and tailor-made holiday packages.

Michael is deeply passionate about Uganda’s tourism industry and believes that the country’s extraordinary wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse cultural heritage deserve to be experienced by travelers from around the world. Nakitende Sylvia serves as the Administration Manager at Mum and Dad Uganda Tours, where she plays a key role in ensuring the company’s administrative operations run efficiently while supporting the delivery of exceptional safari experiences to clients from around the world.

Sylvia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Kampala International University. To strengthen her professional skills, she completed a five-month practical training program with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), where she gained valuable hands-on experience and developed a deeper appreciation for Uganda’s rich tourism potential, wildlife, and natural heritage.

Throughout her career, Sylvia has worked with several reputable tour and travel companies, building extensive knowledge in tourism administration, customer service, travel planning, and office management. Her experience has equipped her with the skills to effectively coordinate operations and provide outstanding support to both clients and colleagues.

For the past 7 years, Sylvia has been an integral member of the Mum and Dad Uganda Tours family. Her dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude have made her an important part of the company’s continued growth and success. Martin Lugwaana is one of the experienced and highly respected safari guides at Mum and Dad Uganda Tours. With years of experience exploring East Africa’s diverse landscapes and wildlife, Martin is dedicated to providing guests with safe, informative, and memorable safari experiences.

Born in Masaka District, Uganda, Martin currently resides in Entebbe with his wife and their three children. His love for nature, wildlife, and meeting people from different cultures inspired him to pursue a career in tourism, where he has built an outstanding reputation for professionalism and exceptional customer service.

Martin joined Mum and Dad Uganda Tours in 2017 after gaining several years of experience as a professional safari driver-guide. Since then, he has guided travelers through some of East Africa’s most spectacular destinations, including Uganda’s national parks, Rwanda’s mountain gorilla habitats, Kenya’s famous wildlife reserves, Tanzania’s iconic safari circuits, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A passionate conservation ambassador, Martin holds a Certificate in Professional Safari Guiding from the Uganda Safari Guides Association (USAGA). He is also certified in 4×4 Advanced Driving and Vehicle Self-Recovery, ensuring guests enjoy safe and comfortable travel even in the most challenging safari terrain.

Martin is fluent in English and Swahili and has a working knowledge of French, allowing him to communicate comfortably with guests from different parts of the world. His excellent wildlife-spotting skills, extensive knowledge of East African flora and fauna, and friendly personality make every safari both educational and enjoyable.

Outside of guiding, Martin enjoys playing and watching sports, listening to music, and spending quality time with his family. His warm smile, patience, and enthusiasm help create a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home throughout their journey.
