Engagi Lodge is a mid-range lodge which is located a few meters outside the gate to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, in Kanungu district in Western Uganda. The lodge is set-up in a large tract of land adjoining with the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, making it a great place for nature survey. Being located just about 9 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala or 45 minutes from Entebbe /Kajansi air strip. Using charter flight to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, then from there  drive direct to the lodge, for about 2 hours.

Engagi lodge is well furnished and the style of the rooms are made of glass especially the glass sliding doors used as room entrances so nice looking. The lodge has a splendid setting that offers spectacular views over the forest canopy.

engagi-lodgeThe lodge is strategically located and it can occupy a big group of people but still allows for smaller individuals. It has a well-stocked bar which operates 24/7. The lodge has well designed sitting room, the dining room and a large outdoor veranda viewing platform which is worth to sit along. At here, you can view the Bwindi forest from every corner inside the building.

While at Engagi Lodge, You can view Bwindi forest from every corner inside the building. The lodge consists of about 8 en-suite cottages which are well furnished and well-spaced out and hidden in the foliage. Each has either double or twin beds, a bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. Furthermore each has a private balconies where guests can enjoy their morning tea or coffee as they watch out over the forest canopy. All rooms has electricity which are provided by a solar power a back-up generator

  • Gorilla tracking adventure, to see the endangered apes in their natural habitat deep in the impenetrable forest.
  • Guests will be able to enjoy a number of private walking trails around the lodge and down to the river.
  • Bird and butterfly watching, the lodge has experienced birders who are kin in spotting different species of birds, the park is a home to very many species of birds some of which are really seen anywhere in other parks.
  • Guided forest walks to see different flora and fauna, huge and unique tree species, insects among others.
