Before gorilla trekking briefing in Uganda and Rwanda.

Briefing for gorilla trekking in the three East African countries including Uganda, Rwanda, and DR. Congo is very important.  This is so because trekkers receive ample information about all processes. First of all, trekkers will receive a warm welcome from the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger who will show them where to make themselves comfortable. Representatives of the UWA will cross-check through your documents like the gorilla permits, passports, and others that require approval before entering the forest to search the gorillas. They cross-check the nationality and the age.

This information for determining which country sends the highest number of tourists per year for marketing purposes. In all national parks of Volcanoes national park, Bwindi Impenetrable national park, Mgahinga national park, and Virunga national park, Uganda Mountain Gorilla trekking the current age limit in Uganda and Rwanda is 15 years and above, no one below that age is allowed to trek the gorillas. In case someone is about to click 15 years I As Mum and Dad Uganda Tours, we advise you to book your child’s (below 15) gorilla trekking permit earlier so as to avoid last minutes booking which is always disappointing.

Briefing for gorilla trekking

In the process of gorilla briefing, the elderly people have to hire porters who will help them carry for them the important things during the trek. Porters are readily available at the park headquarters while on request. So if your age does not favor you in walking, then we advise to request for porters or sedan chairs.

The briefing also helps the UWA agents to identify whether the gorilla permit you have is valid for that particular day. And also to assign you to the gorilla family based on your potential and physical fitness. These permits are valid for a specific day so make sure you go for gorilla trekking experience after cross-checking the date and month on your permit carefully. Do not go for the trekking before or after your actual trekking date you won’t be able to trek.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable national park the most sought after park for gorilla trekking in the entire East Africa has four regions for gorilla trekking including Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Ruhija, therefore if you book a gorilla permit for trekking like In Buhoma then also make sure that you book a lodge within the Buhoma region to avoid disappointments/ long drives. And also if u book a permit for Buhoma but end up in Rushaga for example, you will not be able to trek gorillas in Rushaga because you would be in the wrong place.

Gorilla trekking briefing in Rwanda;

It slightly differs from that of Uganda since Rwanda offers some interesting cultural performance and a cup of coffee to the trekkers. This makes the trek so exciting for most tourists unlike in Uganda where none of the above is available to visitors. Unlike Bwindi Impenetrable national park where there are four regions and starting points, Rwanda has only one starting point (Kinigi) where all the trekkers gather for briefing. But the gorilla trekking process and briefing remains the same, Uganda Mountain Gorilla trekking Price and budget
