Ruhija Community Rest Camp is one of the budget lodges in Ruhijja sector located in the eastern part of bwindi impenetrable national park a few meters from the park boundary. This beautiful budget accommodation is well positioned close to the Uganda wildlife headquarters at Ruhija contrary to the Institute of Tropical Forests Conservation.

The campsite is well located in Ruhija village and sub-county. Ruhija was constructed based on community based, self-sustainable enclosure, near to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park opposite to the Institute of Tropical Forest Conservation (ITFC ) which lies near Ruhija village, within the boundaries of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, at the edge of the forest where Gorrilla trekking takes place.

Ruhija Community Rest Camp is an ideal place to stay when going gorilla trekking of Bitukura, Oruzogo and Kyaguriro groups in Ruhija sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park. For Birders in Ruhijja are gifted with a great chance since they are offered an ideal accommodation in the campsite where more than seven endemic species of birds along  with libertine Rift Valley are viewed while at the campsite. This sector of the park is a home to many species of birds some which can’t be seen elsewhere in the park. Camping

Ruhija Community Rest Camp has gorgeous camping ground everyone on budget could not miss staying. At here anyone can pitch his/her own tent or if you are on self-drive and booked your car with rooftop tents you can as well pitch it from here. At the camp site, you can easily hire a walking stick and or a rain gear in case you need them especially during the rainy season, these will support you especially when going for gorilla trekking. In case you need a camp fire, it can be made on request at small fee.

No good place in bwindi impenetrable national park offers best viewing opportunity for bird watching than Ruhijja community rest camp. Birders are offered an ideal accommodation in the campsite where many bird species can be seen. Mountain Gorilla trekking adventure

Gorilla trekking is the main safari activity done in the park, many visitors to bwindi go gorilla trekking. Bwindi is one of the 4 parks in the world where gorilla trekking takes place, and magical encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas is regarded as memorable, meeting these gentle giants in a close distance is a rare moment and only one hours is allowed to stay with the gorillas, watching them as they do their daily activities, you allowed to take as many photos and videos with them (not allowed to use flash cameras). Gorilla permits must be booked in advance since they are a requirement for gorilla tracking. The lodge can arrange these permits from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) on behalf of our clients if asked in advance or at the time of booking the lodge. A gorilla permit costs $700/permit for foreign nonresidents, 600 US dollars for foreign residents and 250,000sh for East Africans citizens. Book with us your gorilla permits to avoid stress.

Broadbill forest camp

The east of bwindi impenetrable national park in the Ruhija Sector is the Broadbill Forest Camp where gorilla trekking in Uganda takes place.

This sector of bwindi national park (Ruhija sector) has three habituated gorilla families namely the Bitukura Oruzogo and the Kyaguriro, this gorilla family was mainly for research group although it was later opened for tracking.

This type of accommodation is mainly known as a budget accommodation without compromising eminence and comfort. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park apart from mountain gorilla trekking is also known as a key destination for birders visiting Uganda and includes globally threatened species such as African Green Broadbill from whom the lodge derives its name.

Broadbill Forest Camp is mainly offered in tents that are sited on raided wooden floors enclosed by grass thatch making it ecological. The Camp has 4 tents all has self-contained wash rooms and they have provision for twin, double and single rooming arrangement based on your request.

Broadbill Forest Camp has the main building which complies of the restaurant and the bar, well stocked and it operates 24/7 hours. The fire place is also provided where the fire is lit in the evening to present a typical African night in the wilderness. Ruhija Gorilla friends resort, this is one of the most loved lodge in this side/ sector of bwindi national park especially those interested in trekking the gorillas through Ruhija gate. Bwindi Backpackers lodge is known as a budget facility situated on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park, the park is located in the south western part of Uganda about 9 hours’ drive the capital city Kampala. Bwindi Backpackers lodge is known as a one kind traveler’s paradise being located on the verge of Bwindi Impenetrable National park which hosts both 2 grate apes including the endangered mountain gorilla and the chimpanzee. If your safari is well arranged there are many tour operators who know this facility very well they well drive you directly to the lodge. Alternatively, you can come by bus to Kabale and get the lodge shuttle while in Kabale or drive direct to Bwindi. If you have your own transport means also there are buses stopping in Kabale and you will be picked from the bus station if the lodge has your booking already.

Nshongi Camp

Description

Nshongi Camp is one of the ranked budget accommodations in bwindi national park, and if you don’t make prior reservation, you may miss getting a room at the facility. The lodge is located just about7.8km from the center of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and 340.3km from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala the capital city. If you need a perfect gorilla trekking experience staying here is perfect, in fact it’s the only place in Uganda and in the world where you can track five different Gorilla groups including Nshongi, Mishaya, Kahungye, Busingye, Bweza.

The lodge is strategically located, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the Ugandan Wildlife Service hut, which is a starting point of the Gorilla tracking. It’s also juts meters to a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest Uganda. Nshongi Camp has four traditional bandas, and is the perfect place for linking with nature.

Apparently, the facility have double beds and private bathrooms. Each bed has a mosquito net and views of the mountain. Guests can dine under the stars and relax by the roaring campfire. The lodge offers three course meals and they are prepared daily and if want packed lunch it can be prepared for your gorilla trekking tracking. Hot coffee, tea, and drinks are always available on request.
